Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance for our services, which allows us to spend more time with each patient, offer transparent pricing, and eliminate surprise bills. You may still use insurance for outside services such as labs, imaging, pathology, or hospital procedures.

At Refined Women’s Health, your doctor works directly for you, not for insurance companies, bringing back the kind of thoughtful, personal care many of us remember from earlier years. Instead of the rushed, 15-minute appointments common in high-volume practices, you receive attentive, thorough, and genuinely personalized care.

What’s included in my membership?

Your membership includes visits with your doctor as needed (in-person, and virtual), direct access to your physician via secure messaging, and comprehensive, ongoing care. Virtual and in-person visits are included. Pelvic ultrasound, and office procedures are included. You’ll receive personalized prevention plans, advanced hormone and metabolic testing, and regular body composition analyses. When gynecologic surgery is needed, you'll receive a 10% discount on the Surgery Package.

Question 4

What's included in my telemedicine membership?

Accepted Answer

Your telemedicine membership includes direct access to your doctor through secure messaging and virtual visits, plus an annual wellness lab panel at no extra cost and discounted labs. You’ll also receive support for weight loss and metabolic health with ongoing check-ins, personalized care, and lab monitoring. Many common generic medications are included, along with discounted add-ons like body composition scans.

What if I just want one annual visit?

Accepted Answer

You can book a single Well Woman Visit, including your annual physical exam, pap, pelvic ultrasound, body composition analysis, and prescriptions for contraception and/or hormone therapy. You'll have access to secure messaging with the doctor for results and questions for one month following your Well Woman Visit.

If you join as a member within one month of your appointment, your visit fee will be credited toward your membership and your membership will be backdated to include this visit. Priority scheduling is reserved for our members to ensure prompt access to care.

Who is this practice best suited for?

We specialize in helping midlife women - late 30s through early 60s - who want to take an active role in their health — optimizing hormones, managing weight, and extending their healthspan. If you value time, access, and a doctor who truly knows you, this model was built for you.

Can I keep my current gynecologist or primary care doctor?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Many of our patients maintain relationships with other physicians for general or specialized care. We collaborate and communicate with your other providers to ensure you receive coordinated, comprehensive attention.

Question 8

What happens if I need surgery?

Accepted Answer

Dr. DeSplinter has over 25 years of surgical experience and provides discounted fees for members needing minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, such as hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, or hysterectomy. For surgeries outside Dr. DeSplinter's scope of practice, we will refer you to a trusted colleague.

Surgery packages are also available for non-members, referred by their doctor for surgery, and for those with high-deductible insurance plans, the surgeon’s fee is often more cost-effective than going through insurance. Our goal is to make your care safe, seamless, and as stress-free as possible.

Do you prescribe hormone therapy or GLP-1 medications?

Yes. We provide hormone therapy (MHT/HRT) for menopause and perimenopause, including Estrogen, Progesterone, and Testosterone. For women who can't take hormones or choose not to take hormones, we have other options for easing the menopause transition.

We provide medical weight management, including GLP-1 medications like Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, when appropriate. In addition, members enjoy access to some options for discounts on GLP-1 medications, making ongoing care more convenient and accessible. Our weight management program focuses on improving your health. We value strengthening your metabolic health, not simply making you skinny.

Every treatment plan is carefully customized, monitored, and adjusted over time to ensure safety and results.

What if I don’t live near Houston?

Refined Women’s Health currently serves patients throughout Texas. If you live outside the Houston area, virtual visits are available, and local lab and imaging services can be arranged. Contact us if you're interested in a Telemedicine-Only Membership.

Travel to Houston is easy! We are not far from the airport (IAH). We would love to see you in person.

We plan to expand into additional states in the near future. If you reside outside of Texas and would like to join our practice, please enter your information on our waitlist, so we can notify you as soon as our services are available in your state.

Question 11

Can you see Medicare or Medicaid patients?

At this time, we are not able to see patients with Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare, due to contractual limitations and government regulations. However, we hope to expand access in the future, and those interested may join our waiting list to be notified when that option becomes available.

Is this concierge medicine?

Our model delivers the same level of access and service as concierge medicine, but at a fraction of the cost. We call it refined medicine - direct, transparent, and designed for women who value exceptional care without the exclusivity barrier.

Unlike traditional concierge practices, which often charge a very high annual fee and bill your insurance, leading to copays, coinsurance, and surprise bills, our direct care model provides transparent pricing and ensures you never receive an unexpected charge.

What if I just need guidance, not medical treatment?

That’s perfectly fine. Many women come to us for clarity, reassurance, or preventive strategies before symptoms even begin. We’ll meet you wherever you are on your health journey and help you create a plan for lifelong wellness.

As a Signature Member, you receive access to the ManifestRX benefit, which includes over 1,000 high-quality generic medications delivered directly to your home through Manifest Pharmacy.
